Is a dual-speed pump the same as a variable-speed pump?+
No. A two-speed pump has fixed low and high settings. A variable-speed pump can run across a broader programmed speed range, making it easier to match filtration, heating, spa and water-feature flow requirements.
Does a salt system mean the pool is chlorine-free?+
No. A salt chlorine generator converts dissolved salt into chlorine. It can make sanitizer delivery more consistent, but the pool still requires appropriate chlorine and pH testing, adjustment and maintenance.
Can UV or ozone replace chlorine?+
No. UV and ozone are supplemental treatment options. Residential pools still need an approved sanitizer residual and balanced water.
Heat pump or gas heater—which is better?+
A heat pump is commonly selected for efficient temperature maintenance in suitable weather. Gas can provide faster heat-up and stronger cold-weather or spa recovery. A hybrid approach can combine those priorities.
Which upgrades are hardest to add later?+
Automatic-cover vaults, added plumbing, equipment-pad capacity, light locations, in-floor cleaning, spas, ledges and structural water features are best planned before construction. Robotic cleaners and some monitoring equipment are easier to add later.
Are these upgrades included in the package starting price?+
Do not assume so. The final package schedule should identify the base pump, filter, lighting, sanitation and controls. Upgrades are priced after the equipment model, plumbing, electrical needs and design are defined.
